Terms of use
Last updated 21 October 2026
1. Who we are
The Tolge service (tolge.eu) is provided by:
- OÜ Digiarengukeskus, registry code 17135842 (Estonian Commercial Register, Äriregister)
- Address: Siidisaba tn 9-33, 11311 Tallinn, Estonia
- Email: info@tolge.eu
- Phone: +372 5616 5651
By using the service you accept these terms. If you act on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
2. What the service is
Tolge is an online machine translation service. Texts are translated by artificial intelligence (AI) — language models. Quality is supported by glossaries, review checks and multi-step processing.
A translation may contain errors. Check important texts yourself or have them reviewed by a professional. You decide whether a translation is fit for your purpose.
This is not a sworn translation: translations are not certified by a sworn translator (vandetõlk) and are not suitable where such certification is required. The service does not give legal, medical or other professional advice.
3. Account
- You sign in with Google or with a one-time link sent by email. There are no passwords.
- You are responsible for keeping your email and Google account secure.
- Before your first upload or dictation you consent to data processing; the time of consent is recorded.
- We may restrict or block an account in case of abuse: circumventing limits, creating multiple accounts to get free pages, uploading unlawful content.
4. What you may upload
- Only texts and files you are entitled to submit for translation.
- If a document contains other people's personal data, you confirm that you are entitled to submit it for translation.
- Unlawful content and attempts to disrupt the service are prohibited.
- Formats: DOCX, ODT, PDF, TXT, JPG, PNG, XLSX, PPTX or SRT, up to 20 MB. Text can also be pasted or dictated.
5. Prices and estimates
- Prices are shown on the website and in your account. A billing page is 1,800 characters including spaces. The minimum charge per order is 0.25 pages.
- No VAT is charged: the seller is not VAT-registered.
- Before translation you see an estimate: volume, price and, if needed, a separate line for text recognition. Translation starts only after you confirm.
- On confirmation the price is reserved on your balance; for scans and photos with a margin, but never more than your balance. Afterwards the actual price is charged, never more than the reserve (except an extra payment for a scan with your consent, see below); the rest of the reserve is returned to your balance at once.
- For scans, photos and manuscripts the volume is first estimated from the image. After recognition it is recalculated: if the price exceeds the reserve, the extra amount is charged only with your consent; if lower, the difference is returned.
- Recognition starts right after you confirm and is charged even if you cancel (unless the translation fails: then the reserve is returned in full). If you cancel after recognition, only the per-sheet recognition fee is charged and the rest of the reserve is returned. If almost no text remains after your review, the price is never lower than the per-sheet recognition fee.
- If our actual costs exceed the reserve, you do not pay anything extra.
6. Balance, top-ups and bonuses
- The balance is topped up by card via Stripe. Money is credited after the payment provider confirms the payment. Stripe sends a private person a payment receipt, and a company (company account) an invoice with its name and registry code.
- Top-up packages and promo codes give bonuses. Bonuses are not money: they cannot be withdrawn or transferred.
- In short: the bonus is a package discount. On withdrawal (section 8) and refund (section 7), translations already made are charged at the package price, and unused bonus lapses.
- The balance cannot become negative.
7. Refunds
- A consumer may withdraw from a top-up within 14 days (section 8).
- In other cases, a request to refund the remaining balance (info@tolge.eu) is considered individually. If a refund is agreed, translations already made are charged at the package price (proportionally, with the bonus counted as a discount), the money is returned to the original payment method, and unused bonus lapses.
- If a translation cannot be completed, the reserved amount is automatically returned to your balance in full.
- If a result is clearly technically broken (empty file, wrong language), we will translate again for free or return the amount to your balance.
8. Right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal applies to consumers. It does not apply to traders, including legal persons.
- A balance top-up is a distance contract. You may withdraw from it within 14 days without giving a reason. The period starts on the day after the top-up; if its last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, it ends on the next working day.
- If you withdraw, translations made after the top-up are paid for at the package price: proportionally, with the package bonus counted as a discount. We refund the rest. The unused bonus of that top-up is cancelled on withdrawal. The refund amount is removed from your balance at once and returned to the same payment method. If translations are in progress when you give notice, we calculate the refund as soon as they are finished; whether the deadline was met is judged by the time we received your notice.
- Each translation starts only with your express consent. When you confirm an order, you tick a separate box to ask us to start the translation at once and confirm that you know you lose the right of withdrawal for that order once the translation is completed.
- You can withdraw with the “Withdraw from the contract” button (in Estonian “Taganen lepingust”) in your account, under “Balance”. The button is available for the whole withdrawal period. We will confirm receipt of your notice by email.
- You can also send your notice to info@tolge.eu, for example using the form in section 9.
9. Model withdrawal form
To: OÜ Digiarengukeskus, Siidisaba tn 9-33, 11311 Tallinn, info@tolge.eu.
I hereby withdraw from the Tolge balance top-up contract.

10. Free pages and samples
A new account receives free pages, and before paying you can translate a short sample for free (for scans and photos, after text recognition). Limits per document and per day apply. Free pages cannot be exchanged for money; we may cancel them in case of abuse.
Free pages are given once per mailbox: signing up again (including with an address variant such as x+1@gmail.com) does not grant them again.
11. Quality and liability
- A translation made by AI may contain errors (section 2). Recognition of scans, and especially manuscripts, may also contain errors; that is why you check and confirm the recognised text before translation.
- Our liability for a translation is limited to the amount charged for that translation. We are not liable for indirect damage or lost profit.
- These limits do not reduce consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.
12. Files and data deletion
Source files and translations are stored privately and deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete them earlier and delete your account with all data. Details are in the Privacy policy.
13. Website translation
The estimate of a website's volume is preliminary. A request is not a contract: price, deadline and result format are agreed with you separately. We insert the translation into the client's website only by separate agreement; otherwise we do not change the client's website.
14. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms. We will announce material changes on the website and by email at least 14 days in advance. Translations already confirmed are completed under the previous terms.
15. Complaints and disputes
Estonian law applies.
- Send complaints to info@tolge.eu. We will reply within 15 days.
- If the dispute is not resolved, a consumer may turn free of charge to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA): Endla 10a, 10122 Tallinn, website ttja.ee. The procedure is described there.
- You may also turn to a court.
